Physical Description

Melody, who lives under the alias of Annabel Lenoir, stands at 5’7” in height. Her lengthy chesnut hair falls in stick-straight layers to just below her shoulders, which are tan and slim like the rest of her body. Unlike her older sister’s eyes, which are dark and full of warmth, Melody’s eyes are a piercing azure blue and cold as ice. She’s changed a lot since Olivia last saw her – once scrawny and weak, she now radiates power and sexiness. Melody walks with the strut only self-absorbed people have, and there’s a perpetual sneer smearing her stunning features. Usually she dresses in revealing and/or tight-fitting clothing to display her assets to their fullest advantage.

Brief History

When their parents split, Mel took it much harder than Olivia, for reasons unknown. She developed a distant behaviour, separating herself emotionally from all situations in an almost sociopathic way. Once her letter from Hogwarts arrived, she was elated at finally being able to escape her dismal life.

Her excitement quickly evaporated, however, upon the discovery that her sister was already a student at the academy of magic. Growing up, Melody had always felt that Olivia was touted as being the prettier, smarter, more talented sibling, leaving Melody feeling much the opposite. This was where the first lie came into play – she feigned closeness to her sister, when really she despised her very being. Unresolved jealousy and resentment had eaten away at what might’ve been a good soul, leaving only a startling desire for power and recognition behind. Melody managed to continue the charade up until her sixth year, when she got involved with an older Slytherin boy who was destined to become a Death Eater, and who promised her all the power she could ever want if she ran away with him and got initiated as well. Attracted by the concept of control, Melody agreed without hesitation and they made their getaway that very night using the famed tunnel beneath the Whomping Willow.

They had barely made it out of Hogsmeade, however, when the duo was was confronted by disaster. It appeared that the Ministry had gotten wind of the boy’s intentions and a couple of aurors had been sent to hinder them, though neither of them were aware of Melody’s presence. When they tried to take him into custody (Mel never speaks his name), she killed one of them in an effort to save him. However, the other auror thought the boy had somehow done it and retaliated on reflex. It wasn’t until the captive was dead that he realized there had been a fourth party present, but by then Melody was long gone.

The guilty brunette managed to find her own way to the Death Eaters, and joined their ranks under the alias of Annabel Lenoir, from an affluent French family that was though to have died out (well, they did, but ‘Annabel’ made it seem otherwise’). Having already proved herself with the murder of the auror and her thirst for power, Melody Ares disappeared, leaving the cold, calculating Annabel Lenoir in her wake.

For the past five and a half years, ‘Annabel’ has been living in a small wizarding town just outside of Paris, France. She now speaks the language almost flawlessly and has picked up a little Spanish and German as well. Originally she had no intention of returning to London, but that was before something caught her attention…

Personality

Melody is a scheming, manipulative, self-serving be0tch. Her every move is calculated to determine how much she’ll gain – she won’t do anything unless it benefits her. Having spent the last six years living under a fake identity, Mel is a top-notch liar and excellent at covering her tracks. She would’ve had to have been, joining the ranks of the Death Eaters as a muggle born. She doesn’t have many close friends, because all her actions have ulterior motives: herself. She won’t stop at anything to get what she wants, whether it be a guy or something more. Melody is superb at manipulating others into doing what she wants, which can be anything from sex to money to murder and back again. Unlike Olivia, Melody has a heinous temper that will unleash itself upon anyone who dares to contradict her, stand in her way or cop an attitude. And trust me, the receiving end of Mel’s wrath is not a place you want to be. She the general mentality of a spoiled child when it comes to her wants and needs.

Strengths

Despite her lack of emotional capacity and selfish persona, Melody does indeed have some strengths. She’s incredibly skilled in the Dark Arts (with practice comes near-perfection) and is also quite good at herbology, both talents which have proven useful on her chosen path. While some may find it difficult to believe, Melody is fiercely loyal to those (unfortunate)few she calls her friends, though it is reasonably questionable as to how deep these loyalties lie. As previously mentioned, another one of her skills is being deceitful – lying and spinning tales are her specialties. She’s fabulous at manipulating things into going her way as well. The strong and pushy type, Melody will stop at nothing to get what she wants.

Weaknesses

Like all other people, Melody has her weaknesses, though she chooses to deny them. She was always useless at divination and dropped the class well before her sixth year. Her other weaknesses include her inability to have feelings for anyone or anything (though she views this as a strength), her incessant ulterior motives and selfishness. Melody seems to think the world revolves around her and therefore tend to overlook certain crucial things when plotting her next move. She’s rather close-minded and refuses to see beyond her thoughts and opinions on the subject. She trusts barely anyone, as she has what most refer to as ‘trust issues’.

Hobbies and Interests

Melody’s four favourite things are booze, sex, money and power – however, you can’t make hobbies out of those. A bit on the morbid side, Melody likes reading poetry and short stories, etc, about murder and death and other such gruesome things. She enjoys practicing curses on the unsuspecting, which has almost landed her in Azkaban more than once, but she weasled her way out every time. Shopping is another of her favourite pastime, blowing off thousands of pounds on expensive clothes from Chanel, Oscar de la Renta, and other such muggle couture fashion houses. Her all-time favourite hobbies, though, are looking at herself, talking about herself, and thinking about herself.
