Dick Cheney

From Torg Adventure

In the Bat Cave, a black figure slides down a pole at one end, his cape billowing in the updraft. Batman lands and walks to the large computer terminal in the center of the room. His hands fly across the keys. A large image of Dick Cheney, Vice-President of the United States, appeared at the top of the huge monitor, and a very thorough dossier of the man pooped up on the bottom. Batman needed something to capture the headlines and news outlets. Something to snarl the machinery of the government enough to give him a chance to correct things.

The dark knight read and skimmed the material, taking his time to find some thread of information he could use. With a few key clicks, he had financial records and credit card reports. He scanned them, looking for clues. He fed the data into the advanced data-mining application he had commissioned for Wayne Enterprises. The program sifted and collated the dossier. Batman checked the cable news feed while he waited for the indexing function to finish. After finding little in the press that criticized the government, he turned the feed off. Just then, a loud "Bing!" was emitted from the computer. Batman looked at the reorganized data. A nearly-undetectable pattern emerged. Beneath the black batwing mask, his lips curled into a grim smile. He ran down the tunnel to the Bat Plane. Washington D.C. was going to get a visit.

A dark figure on a dark motorcycle sped through the nation's capital, headed toward a rather broken down commercial district. As he neared, he saw hustlers and streetwalkers aplenty, as well as drug dealers and gang members. Most did not pay attention to the quickly-moving vehicle. He headed down an alley and found a dark location to stash the Bat-Cycle. It was much easier to carry on the Bat-Plane than the Batmobile. Batman dismounted, took a Bat-arang from his belt and tossed it to the roof. The rope held when he tested it. He climbed the wall.

Just past a ledge, his sonic Bat-Ears picked what he was listening for: the gruff voice of the VP. The eight-inch ledge was wider than caped crusader was used to practicing with, so he moved closer to the target window.

What does he find?
