You tiptoe into the kitchen, grab your phone and dial the local police station.
"Hello, 5th precinct," the police operator says. "Can I help you?"
"I hope so," you say. "There's a man in my apartment and he's stealing my television."
"I see," says the operator. "Could you hand the phone to the man? I'd like to ask him a few questions."

- Tell the operator to send over a squad car
- Tell the thief the police want to talk to him
- Hang up and handle this yourself
