Showing your softer side you allow the girl to tag along, figuring she may be able to help you discover what has happened. Starting back up the path she tells you that there is a town just up ahead. After questioning her about the smoke she tells you that a house started on fire and they had just put out the fire when she was leaving town. Further questions about the man chasing her reveal that the girl does not wish to speak of the matter.
After a short walk you and the girl enter town. Upon entering town you see that a few people are standing around the building that had burnt down. After a quick glance at the people in the town you see that they are all using tools made of steel instead of the wood tools you are use to. Walking further into town the people you pass smile at you and some even pleasantly greet the girl with you. Near mid town you find an Inn with and the girl sees her father. The girl informs you that her father may be able to help you.
