A diminutive goblin; small, colourful and cunning, ever with a glint in the eye.

From Thread 1

The goblins of the Sensual Realms are energetic creatures, ever inventive and brimming with new ideas, often to the point of distraction. This has held them back somewhat; though they are clever and deft, no goblin has the patience to follow through on large projects or to engage in anything so monotonous as industry. Dwelling in cities and towns carved in the dark beneath the mountains, goblin inventors can barely keep their focus long enough to maintain the bizarre machines left by vanished gods, deep below the earth. The goblins, it is said, were created to tend these massive devices, and these monolithic artifacts provide their oldest cities with heat, light and water. For food, the goblins take their own strange devices, each unique and made from materials mined from the deeps, and either go hunting, build experimental automated farms or trade with the other races. Ever inquisitive, many goblins have traveled across the world, and one can expect to see them almost anywhere; their small bodies, skin vibrant with a variety of bright colours and with faces almost constantly set in a sharp-toothed grin, are as easily picked out as their exuberant chatter.

When the Merlurn, the shadow-men, marched out across the world 100 years ago under the directions of their terrible gods, they could not penetrate into the heart of the goblins' nations, chaotic though they were. Though their newer and outermost settlements fell easily, the ancient god-machines in their great underground cities were protected by powerful, unknown forces. Fire would flood along tunnels or lance from high on the mountaintops, while the rock of the hills themselves would rise up into the shape of mighty giants to toss the Merlurn's armies back. Knowing that any victory would be costly - and with their gods strangely unforthcoming about what lay beneath the mountains - the shadow-men ceased hostilities and accepted the goblins as a neutral party in the war. Such a state has remained for the past hundred years.

You are an inventor, like most goblins; seeking to capitalize on the playfulness of your people and the need for diversion in the other races, you have decided to specialize in making certain... toys. Of course, as complicated as most goblin inventions are, you often need to operate them yourself on your clients' behalf, and practice has given you both skill and profit.

Before you go make some more, tell me: are you a man or a woman?
