Radar

From Thikipedia

Radar is named for its inventor, Corporal Radar O'Reilly, an enlisted solider who served in the 4077th M*A*S*H unit during the Korean War.

Radar works on the premise of detecting minute fluctuations and disturbances in The Force and using these to determine the location, shape and size of objects. The range of radar varies depending on the colour of The Force being used but most radar operators (or radiators as they prefer to be known) traditionally prefer green as it has reasonable range but also has the benefit of working at night as well as during the day.

Radar has had a difficult life and almost fell into disuse and obscurity after being superceeded by more modern technologies such as telescopes and signal fires. The repreive for radar came when, in June 1954, Albert Einstein accidentally discovered that using a narrow band of pink radar could accurately pick out the location of nearby homosexuals. The Gaydar was born and radar's future was secured.
