Scientists in Texas have confirmed that the temperature of planet Earth has been rising over the last 100 years.

Furthermore, they have tracked down the culpret: the sun. Our nearest star has a surface temperature of about 5000 degrees Celcius, which can cause serious sunburn.

President Bush congratulated the scientists for their findings, which appeared yesterday in the Journal of Unpublishable Results. Bush said: "Our country is in danger but I will save us. I have instructed NASA to launch a series of H-bombs at the sun to destroy it, saving this country, and also the world from global warming."
