The country of Costa Rica was taken over in October 2006 by the coffee giant Costa, originally founded and based in the country, in a poorly-publicized and very bloody coup d'etat.
The newly-declared anarcho-commercial "coffee republic" has come as a surprise to the worlds of both commerce and politics.
