Personality
A freelance photographer from Brooklyn, New York, Frank West was a rising star in journalism due to his coverage of various wars throughout the world, or so he would later claim. However, what was undisputed was the Frank possessed a skilled sense of things, typically catching scoops that the less brash, snub-nosed and hands-on journalists tended to miss. However, this same sense of adventure and hands-on journalism would later land the photographer in a rather deadly situation.
Powers and Abilities
Frank is an ordinary human, however, as a result of his exploits he has the build and athletic abilities of an athlete. As well, Frank is also trained in the use of simple firearms and the use of seemingly commonplace items as improvised weaponry. As a journalist, Frank is also an expert photographer, and as a result of the incident at the Willamette mall, quite knowledgeable of zombies (however his knowledge is basically limited to how to avoid by infected by them, and kill them, as biology and science definitely are not his strengths).
History
When the government cordoned off the town of Williamette, Colorado, Frank was the only photographer to pull up the balls necessary to fly overtop the military blockades with the aid of a skilled helicopter pilot. After a quick sweep of the town, it became clear that it was much more than the army had explained it to be. Thus, Frank dropped down on the rather large Williamette Mall, giving the pilot clear instructions that he was to pick Frank up in exactly 72 hours. As it turned out Wiliamette had been beset by a plague of the living dead, and those that had survived had holed up within the mall, however, due to an unfortunate mistake, the Zombies broke into the mall, and most of the survivors were cut off from on another. Luckily, along with the help of two Homeland Security agents that had arrived at the town just shortly after the incident occurred, Frank was able to reunite all the survivors they managed to locate throughout the mall as well as discovering the source of the infection and the underlying conspiracy.
However, as events unfolded, Frank managed to evacuate all the survivors he discovered, but his own helicopter was shot down by an army chopper, standing him within the mall. Adding to this horrific turn of events, Frank also discovered that he had also begun to contract the disease himself, though luckily, with the help of another survivor was able to purge it from his body. With his body cured , Frank then, along with the final survivor (who happened to be the sister of the man that had caused the incident) escaped the mall utilizing the sewers beneath. However, the path that their escape took them on ended up leading them only into further troubles, all the events coming to a head. It was at this point where Frank, surrounded by a veritable mob of the undead and standing on a useless tank with he and his companion facing certain death, simply slipped from his world and into the new one.
