On the outside, Rabi is a cheerful and chipper guy. He’ll joke even in the middle of a battle, and tease his comrades playfully. He can be reckless at times, with an affinity for danger. He’s social; often talking to anyone, and everyone he can. The exorcist can suddenly turn right around from that and be dead serious. At the drop of a hat, he can switch right back.

[edit] Personality

On the surface, Lavi is friendly and cheerful guy with a perchance for bouts of perception. He appreciates beauty and falls easily for a pretty girl. He’s a bit rebellious, acting somewhat like a brat around his mentor and throwing jokes even in the middle of a fight. He is loyal, standing by the side of his friends even when things seem bleak. He feels you have to try no matter the odds against you. Lavi has a temper that when it explodes he says exactly what appears to be on his mind.

It doesn’t matter who it is he’s snarling at, if he feels you’re in the wrong, he will tear you to pieces with his words. He stands by his beliefs and refuses to back down. Lavi keeps his guilt and pain locked away, only showing a solemn look. Only in private, or when no one is around will he even show a bit of it. But that is only half of the one called ‘Lavi’. Behind the mask, exists what was, and possibly is the ‘true’ self of Lavi. ‘Lavi’ is the 49th name and persona of the nameless Bookman apprentice.

In the past that self hated humanity and was cynical about how history would turn out. He believed in no one and stayed neutral, watching the world go by. He held loyalty to no one and cared only for recording the secret history. Everyone else was just ink on the pages of his records. But at some point the past persona changed in the current one. The nameless one now has a name and self, but he’s in turmoil.

Should he discard the heart that has been precious and giving him things to believe in? Or should he turn his back on what he always wanted and now doubts? Only time will tell if he discards his 49th self, or becomes ‘Lavi’ completely.

[edit] Powers and Abilities

Rabi’s an Exorcist; to be precise an equipment type. With his hammer, Ōdzuchi Kodzuchi, invoked he can do a variety of things. The hammer can change size on command or summon forth the elements of nature depending on the seal he uses. (He’s forgotten some of them.) Physically he can remember everything he hears or encounters perfectly.

[edit] History

‘Rabi’ didn’t exist a few years ago. Only a nameless person did who had donned forty eight other personas of a sort to observe history. The Bookman’s apprentice’s past isn’t known beyond a few details. At a very young age he was accepted as the apprentice of the Bookman. Two years ago he became part of the Black Order to observe history from their side. Just by chance as Bookman noted and the persona of Rabi was birthed. Rabi met Rinali Li, Kanda Yuu, likely others.

He stuck by them, continuing to observe history and see them just as he saw the rest of humanity. But as time went by he found his smile starting to be true and his persona of ‘Rabi’ becoming real. Meeting Allen Walker made Rabi more real than any other persona; the young man of the Bookman clan himself began to change. When later forced to face this, it took a long grueling struggle in a game for his very life and heart before he accepted it. Perhaps ‘Rabi’ at last truly exists instead of just the nameless member of the Bookman clan.
