Personality
Okita Sougo has a rather complex personality; all personalities in one, some can say. Generally, he will come off as a slacker who sleeps on duty or during training, or if he is working, he's not taking it seriously. He also likes to pursue any unusual activity when bored, such as redesigning the uniforms, despite his superiors obviously not being impressed, or spend a day watching soap re-runs, or perhaps even spreading rumours. He also has violent tendencies, done all with a calm face.
He appears to be a lethargic and/or playfully childish and innocent looking young boy with light brown hair and wide grey-brown eyes, but looks do fool people indeed. People have described him for having a "refreshing face, but a wicked attitude". His beliefs lie in that fact that to protect anyone, especially those who are too easily preyed upon, one must be the bad guy. Which he does, being quick to draw and attack. Sougou in a serious moment is also one to be feared. He also has a rather weird plan of blowing up his superiors if he wants to climb rank (he claims this is a joke, but who knows...).
His sense of humour is also rather disturbing; a sadistic youth who prides himself for such. One of his comrades has nicknamed him "The Prince of Planet S[adistic]" due to his personality.
Powers and Abilities
Okita is gifted with the ability to use many weapons, mainly projectiles, however, his most valued skill would be that of swordplay, being the best swordsman of his world. He is quick, his movements sharp and keen and always on target. He is also rather destructive.
History
Okita Sougo originated from a family of samurai, until aliens came and took over Japan. Though their family has an obvious dislike for these aliens, there's nothing more to do but live and go with the flow. However, they still believed in and followed their old ways and code. Which included the art of the sword, despite the fact that swords are now banned off the streets.
At a young age, he was sent to a school to learn the ways of his forefathers, proving himself to be a genius, especially with the sword. In addition to the sword, he also began to teach himself the use of ranged weapons, his goal to be a sniper, though that was a dream left aside. Instead, he found himself interested into large ranged weapons, such has rocket launchers and similar.
Though with a new government, it is still a fact that the streets are littered with disorder, and the high ranks with corruption. However, one of the heads of his school created the hired peacekeeping/law enforcement organisation, the Shinsengumi, of which Okita captains the first unit, being one of the best.
