The transformation complete, Zam unslings her kitbag to retrieve an elegant gown she had specially tailored at the luxury House of Vanar—paid for in fake dataries, naturally. The gown is of the style favored by Amidala in her public appearances; all elaborate sequins, over-produced layers and folds, and an overall sense of the utterly gaudy. Still, Zam is aware that Amidala has attracted a surprising amount of male attention in her career, so the Changeling assumes her stylist must have got something right. She steps into the tacky gown, taking brief pleasure in the feel of the high-quality material sliding over her bare limbs, and centers herself in a particularly snooty mindset.
Zam steps out from around the corner, and smiles invisibly as the guards jump spastically to attention. "My Lady! We, uh, thought you were in your rooms..." the guard Zam previously identified as a First Lieutenant Chamberlyn says. Zam considers how to handle these two.
