Barriss smiles, though it's clear she's slightly confused by your answer. You beckon her in, and she sits on the bed next to you. "Did you come to talk?" you ask.
"I suppose. I'm glad I was assigned to this mission. It gave me the chance to get to know you better."
You smile at this, watching the girl's purple-tinted lips moving. "And what do you think?" you ask easily, stretching out slightly to gaze up at her.
"You're a remarkable man, Anakin," Barriss says, a leaf-green blush rising in her cheeks. "More remarkable than any Jedi I've met—apart from my Master."
You're pleased by Barriss' frankness. "I'm only Human," you say.
"You're going to be a great Jedi, I think. The Force is with you, in a way I haven't encountered before." Her keen, blue eyes search your face, every so often flicking down to your lips. "On my homeworld, there are small insects we call oshiki bugs. Some people think they're made of pure energy. They're attracted to any source of power; anything electrical, or a natural well-spring. Even Force-sensitives. They feed off it, and at night, they glow from the inside out." She leans in, and you realize her hands are on your arms, her weight pressing on you. "I've felt like an oshiki on Ansion. I... I feel like I want to catch the lightning."
"Aren't you afraid," you say with a smile, "of getting fried?"
She stares into your eyes. "No. No, I'm not," she says simply, and her lips meet yours. The touch is electric, though after a moment, Barriss pulls back. "I'm sorry...."
"It's alright, Barriss."
"We're Jedi," she says, though her expression betrays her.
You stroke her smooth, teal-colored cheeks, and cup her bright face in your palms. "Tell me what you want, Barriss."
"...I want you, Anakin Skywalker. I want to be the oshiki."
You smile, and kiss her again.
