How I became an Imperial Spymaster

From The Pardusian Chronicles

Masquerading as a trader...

While growing up as a part of the empire, one of the things I learned to do best is hack computers. This is the art that allow some people to glean information about another person off their own buildings, or if the person is part of a faction be able to get information on them at any given star base. I learned this while doing trading primarily in Imperial faction packages. The advantage of this is because I was trading imperial packages I could disguise my hacking attempts as mistakes in filling out tracking forms... For this reason, I was never able to be caught and a bounty placed on my head. Let's hope this news does not leak out to the Empire..This is the first of thing that lead me to become an imperial spy master.

I also learned that one could actually sit at base a while, and learn quite a few things, if you keep your eye out at different places. For example, I was keeping a track database at a few planets and star bases of who shows up. This is really useful at finding out player trade routes. It is also usefull because it can be sold to alliances that are hunting pirates in the area. While I technically don't usually get involved in ambushes, I generally have a good information for people who want to set up ambush points for that reason. Of course I never trade with pirates, however, I do trace pirate hunter routes also.. In case I need to avoid a ambush point myself.

To be continued at a later time... I cannot be telling all our secrets at once now..

As I said before... The basis, for becoming a spymaster is hacking skills, and listening.. but there is one more important key to this story... While a spymaster conducts their trade on the predictability of players.. (Even Fighters), They must never become predicatable themselves. This means travel, this means not stay in one area, this means, not taking typical routes, and having vast amounts of information on your surrounding areas... Therefore these are the keys to being a good spy: Listening, Hacking, and knowing the area you spy upon...

As an example I used to attempt to track certain players, even in my own alliance, Lendrez for instance, because he is a pretty good bounty hunter. In Lendrez's case this was to keep his ambushes from being ambushed. I do it also, so he does not get ambushed, (it helps if the person you are helping tends to remember your advice though)... Like Player X, has an Ambush behind the recyclotron in Inliaa..

Granted, I could also act as a double agent for the right price. However, that has to do with something reffering to trust which has no part in this story...
