Kauhava Air Warfare School

From The D Archives

The Kauhava Air Warfare school was established in the 1920's or 30's as a base for the Finnish Air Force to train military pilots. In 2005 the training of pilots was moved from Kauhava to the Tikkakoski Airbase, and thus Kauhava continued on as an institution of the military giving continuation training for pilots serving in the Finnish Border Guards and the Defence Forces in general.

The Kauhava Air Warfare School is also known as the Kauhava Airbase.
