Final Fantasy VI

FFVI is naturally the game which was released before Final Fantasy VII, and thus the influences on both of the products can be easily spotted. Now, let it be said, that I liked this one very much. The game had a dark, industrial atmosphere pretty close to the one in FFVII. I haven't played this one to the end, yet, but perhaps some day I'll get to it.
