Erik stands at roughly 6 foot even, with short, dark brown hair and light brown eyes. He's thin, but very well built. He's always clean shaven, and usually wears Clive Christian No. 1 as his cologne of choice.
When it comes to clothing, Erik is an Amherst to the N'th degree. Gieves & Hawkes for anything custom tailored, the best of Paris and Milan for the rest. He wears business suits normally, trading in the jacket for a white lab coat during work hours. Though he does know how to dress down when the occasion arises.
With a suit, Erik always wears a diamond encrusted pin of the Amherst International logo- an eagle perched atop a laurel wreath with an 'A' inside.

Erik is constantly thinking and analyzing. Whenever faced with a situation, he will stop and think out all possible outcomes before making even the smallest decision. He is always very cautious when making these decisions, and knows the difference between having a lot of something and having too much of it.
Unlike his younger cousin Raoul, Erik does not question the path that was chosen for him by his family. He knows deep down that they chose the path because they know that it is the best way to make use of his natural talents and abilities. The family is only looking out for his well being, and would never steer him wrong.
He also shares the traits common in all Amherst's- the zeal to push past anyone and anything that gets in his way of achieving his goal, and the general disdain for the Nouveau riche.

At Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York City, NY, Erik David Amherst was born on May 23, 1980 as the first child of Elizabeth West- a renowned Broadway actress, and Patrick Amherst- then the manager of Amherst International�s operations in Manhattan. 5 years later the Manhattan Amherst�s would receive a set of twins- Andrew and Andrea on August 25, 1985.
Erik grew up in the comfortable, sheltered life of the Upper-East Side of Manhattan. They lived in the family�s sprawling 3-floor complex at 740 Park Avenue with their two dogs Dolce and Gabbana. Since Janus wasn�t an option for the children to attend, they were instead enrolled in The Hotchkiss School, an elite private boarding school in the New England area.
{{In 1995, when Erik was 15, his father Patrick received a letter from his father Benjamin Amherst III. Following the statements made in the letter, Patrick ran as a Republican for mayor of New York City, narrowly defeating the other candidates. He eventually served a term and a half as mayor, then ran and won the office of Governor of New York in 2002. Currently, Governor Patrick Amherst is one of the Republican frontrunners for the upcoming 2008 Presidential Election.}}
Early into Erik's education, the family noticed his natural inclination to science and the biology field. Therefore, his "plan" included an undergrad at Princeton University, Stanford Medical School out west in California, and eventually a position with Amherst Medicine. All of which he has attained.
He has since moved into a penthouse in the 92050, with a position as director of the Amherst Research Institute operating out of Amherst Medicine. The Amherst Research Institute works to uncover the mysteries of new, as-yet-unheard of diseases and ailments.
