Robin Bergman

Robin Denis Bergman (Born July 15, 1987 in Gävle, Sweden) is a Swedish professional football player, who plays defender for Tekken City in the FA Premier League. Bergman is a recent member of the Sweden National Football Team. On June 2, 2007, he made his debut in Sweden's abandoned game against Denmark in the Euro 2008 qualifiers. His other appearance came against Iceland on June 10.

Bergman began his footballing career at Swedish club Hammerby where he signed a youth deal at 14 years of age. He appeared in many games as a left-sided defender and made the most appearances in 2 successive seasons. Bergman because of his astounding performances, gained a lot of interest from a host of clubs, including Real Madrid, Inter Milan and Lyon.

After Bergman's prolific performances for Hammarby, he was noticed by Tekken City's scout Sepha Ucani and was signed up as a youth player with the club. He impressed in two more seasons, playing a full house of games, and scored 5 goals.

On November 13, 2006, Bergman signed a professional contract at the age of 19. He signed on for 5 years. He has a goal to his name professionally, which came in a UEFA Champions League game against Hamburg SV in a staggering 5-0 victory.

On October 6, 2007, Bergman made his first appearance in the 2007-08 season by starting at left-back against Newcastle United at St James' Park, to which Tekken City won 2-0.

After The Euro 2008 finals on July 2, 2008, Bergman successfully signed a new 5-year-deal following an extravagent finals with his national side, and with it, the number 3 shirt for the following season. He scored an important goal in a Champions League semi-final match against Manchester United, which the side won 2-1 to which he was given a man of the match award following his astounding performance keeping Cristiano Ronaldo relatively quiet during the game.

Bergman was valued £20m by Fabio Capello, making him the second most expensive Swedish player behind £25 million-rated Zlatan Ibrahimovic, former Tekken City and current Inter Milan striker.

On August 30, 2008 Bergman scored Tekken City's opening goal against Liverpool at the Zaibatsu Stadium. Although the game finished 1-1, Bergman picked up the Man of the Match award in the game, and Fabio Capello gave extra praise to the Swede, labelling his performance as the best since he became manager.

Bergman, since the beginning of the 2008/2009 season has made the left-back position his own at Tekken City following his extraordinary performances.

Bergman was selected to play for his native country Sweden for the UEFA Euro 2008 Championships which will be held in Austria and Switzerland in June 2008. He has been able to outselect fellow left-back, Erik Edman, who currently plays for Wigan Athletic. He currently has more than 10 caps and 1 goal to his name.

Bergman played in all three of Sweden's Euro 2008 group matches before being eliminated by Russia 2-0 on June 18, 2008. He was the team's first choice left back. He made one assist throughout the entire tournament, setting up former Tekken City striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic (now of Inter Milan) to score an equaliser against Spain.
