The Kozand were a nomadic people that rarely came into contact with outsiders. Those that did come into contact with them brushed them off as primitive savages. But there was more to these people than they thought, for the Kozand produced magi with equivalent skill to those who attended the university. Nanali was born a child of these people, her father an herbalist and her mother a healer. As a young girl she was trained to heal people with magic.
