The mouse eats the poisoned bread with great relish, gives a small croak of surprise, and then imitates that croak with his entire body, expiring in mere seconds.

As you enter the passage, you see a yawning chasm spanned by a wooden rope bridge. At the far side of the chasm stands an enormous wooly mammoth.
