Quentin shouted out, "Ho, Cameron! This is just like old times." His soft boots made faint thuds on the wooden planks as he paced the deck. "Once again, I'm up here, nice and safe, about to make a fortune, and you're bruised and battered, and have not a penny to your name." Quentin flicked a spec of imaginary lint from the cuff of his red, brushed velvet coat and shined a bronze button on his sleeve.

Cameron retorted, "Ho, Quentin! This is just like old times! You're up there, relaxing in the lap of luxury, thinking you're all safe and secure, while I'm down here, finding a thousand ways to make you regret you've been born. I've just completed my fourth plan, and I'm enjoying devising more to choose from!"

Quentin laughed in the face of Cameron's bravado. "Of course you are, Cameron. Of course you are. But, there's just one tiny detail I think you may be overlooking."

Cameron shot back, "Oh, really? Do tell."

- Quentin said, "I failed to mention that I have Larissa captive belowdecks. The sailors are growing quite fond of her."

This article needs to be edited to conform to Interactive Fiction-style prose. It may need one or more of the following:

  • To be written in the second person, with the reader as protagonist;
  • To follow the POV of only the protagonist (e.g. only narrate the reader's thoughts and observations, as the reader can't know what other characters are thinking, unless he/she is telepathic);
  • To only include choices in the decision paths (e.g. a decision path should be a choice between two or more decisions, not two or more realities - a decision path shouldn't say A: You have $50 in your wallet or B: You have $400 in your wallet. Such a choice provides alternate realities, not alternate decisions.
