Facts
- It was the first song ever "officially" performed live on a normal episode of The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.
- The cover photo on the single was taken by Brian Muldoon, who had previously worked with Jack during his days as an upholsterer. Brian currently plays drums and keyboards in the band The Muldoons, whose '45 was produced by Jack White.

Video
The video for "The Denial Twist" was directed by Michel Gondry, the same music video director who also directed the videos for "Fell In Love With a Girl", "Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground", and "The Hardest Button to Button".
Like some of Gondry's previous video work, such as The Chemical Brothers' "Let Forever Be" and Kylie Minogue's "Come Into My World", the video features a wide array of spectacular visual effects as it follows Jack and Meg from the set of Late Night with Conan O' Brien to their apartment.
Conan O' Brien makes a cameo appearance in the video, as the White Stripes had previously been a week-long musical guest on Late Night With Conan O' Brien while promoting Elephant. The square-headed O'Brien doll in the video was a reference to a similar one given to the comedian at the end of their week-long stay on the show. The plaster blow-up was actually created by Gondry.
A foot comes crashing down from the roof on Jack's piano in the beginning. At the end of the video, when Jack and Meg step in their apartment, Meg turns on the television but it is not working. While Jack and Meg are trying to fix it, Meg tries to kick the television to get it working, while it appears that Meg's foot is actually going through the television and on top of Jack's piano, which would explain the beginning of the video. In other words, Michel Gondry is a brilliant man.
