Jack has some pretty awesome guitar playing in this one. They're both wearing matching outfits - black shirt, red pants (Well, for Jack it's half red, half black pants). I think Jack is inserting drum skills into Meg's brain at the beginning of the video. Oh my god...I miss these times. Meg's pigtails, Jack wearing all red - just an extraordinary performance. What's weird - they were promoting their album White Blood Cells, but the two songs they performed on this weren't from WBC at all. Truly extraordinary. The guitars sounded incredible, the bass was booming, Patrick was awesome, and Dean was hiding over there in the corner. Jack was like a metal rocker or something, shaking his head around in the chorus, screaming out lyrics - just fantastic. And I must say, great transition into Hands! I noticed, like, almost everybody sang except for Patrick. Can you not sing, Patrick? Hmm? Extraordinary. Jack just gets more crazy with his guitar solos every day, doesn't he? And Meg was awesome as well, keeping up with Jack's maniac guitar solos and bashing those cymbals and trying not to pay any attention to the big, scary black bodyguard behind you. Good job, guys. By the way, big black bodyguard, Conan thought Meg was great! Conan wanted to shake her hand, but you stopped him, you evil man. Will this song ever be forgotten? No. This is the song the Stripes are probably remembered by the most. Usually, a new Stripes fan will credit this song as the song that made him/her a Candy Cane Child. This song is the greatest. So catchy and fantastic, with an amazing video created from the king of music videos, genius Michel Gondry. Meg must've been exhausted, having to run around, sit in the seat, do one drum beat, then run to the other drum set, sit in the seat, do one drum beat, and on and on and on and on, etc. The video also features a cameo by Beck, and if you look closely at the video, you can see passersby looking through the windows in the subway. --Shaun the Ripper 07:17, 3 September 2006 (EDT)
Amazing song. Wild vocals from Jack, lots of bashing on the cymbals from Meg, and a whole load of genius from Michel Gondry, once again. Do you realize what the filmmakers went through to make this video? They built a huge thing out of LEGOS for one frame, then they took it apart and rebuilt it differently for another frame, it was made like The Hardest Button to Button video. This is like, infamous now. And no, guys, Jack and Meg are not making out at the end. That's just their way of communicating onstage. And you see at the end, Meg's all happy and laughing, and Jack just keeps his straight face - Jack, you need to take some happy pills or something, cause it would be a sight to see if you and Meg just played happily onstage, both smiling and having a good time. Maybe Meg is just pretending to laugh, but inside she's thinking "Get out of my frigging way, Jack, I got to drum here! I just had a bunch of whiskey, so I can't..Jack..the..no!! Jack..don't...okay, Meg, pretend to laugh. You can do it. Oh, he's still not cracking a smile at all. Okay, he's..he's gone!!! Yay!!!" --Shaun the Ripper 05:37, 3 September 2006 (EDT)
