Catalyst

From Stripespedia

Catalyst is a Detroit experimental rock band, formed in 1983. The band is horribly obscure, and there is little to nothing on the band online.

Catalyst was formed by, and has primarily been comprised of, a few of Jack White's older brothers -- Eddie Gillis (guitar), Joe Gillis (keyboards), and R. Leo Gillis (bass and vocals), along with multi-instrumentalist Paul Henry Ossy, the late guitarist Max Megga, and various drummers, including Brian Muldoon, Mike Mendez, and Jack himself. The band's style is apparently a mix of classic Detroit garage rock, ambient electronica, and psychedelia, recorded in single takes in analog. Eddie Gillis describes the band's style as "prog-rock/jam band".

Catalyst seems to have disbanded, as the members have all moved on to various, less obscure projects, including Tin Knocker and The Muldoons.
