TV Superheroes is a superheroic campaign set in a composite universe based primarily (but not exclusively) on such TV superheroes as the Bionic Man, Michael Knight and the Invisible Man. The campaign uses the 4th Edition of the Hero System rules and features characters that fit thematically with the source material and that tie into selected elements from the numerous shows that make up the game world. |

Players
Setting
The campaign takes place in a merged continuity of many superheroic or supernaturally-oriented TV series. To be included in the campaign, a TV show must satisfy several requirements:
- The show must not be set in a prominent, established comic book universe such as those of DC and Marvel Comics.
- The show must be set in a world very similar to modern-day earth, especially with regard to society and generally-available technology.
- Within the scope of the show, knowledge of supernormal and paranormal abilities must be held to a minimum.
Theatrical-release films are not expressly excluded from the setting. Several appear in the timeline. However, to be included, a film must satisfy all of the above criteria, and it must mesh well with the TV shows that have been included. That is, while only television shows can define the tone and style of the setting, any film with a matching tone and style could be included to further enrich the game world.
The TV Superheroes Timeline describes some of the events and television shows forming the background of the setting.
Included shows
The list of TV shows included in this campaign is extensive. Please see List of shows included in TV Superheroes for the entire listing.
Suggested shows
The following TV shows have been suggested for inclusion into this campaign.
To suggest a show, just add it to the list in alphabetical order. As shows are approved or rejected, please move them from this list to the Included or Excluded list.
- Bewitched
- I Dream of Jeannie
- The various James Bond films.
- The Man from U.N.C.L.E.
- Painkiller Jane
- Poltergeist: the Legacy
Rejected shows
The following TV shows have been specifically excluded from this campaign:
- Dark Angel (2000-2)
- Doctor Who (1963-89, 2005-6)
- Smallville (2001-6)
Ground Rules
This campaign uses the 4th Edition of the Hero System rules except as noted herein.
Character Creation
This is a superheroic campaign. As such, characters do not have Characteristic Maxima unless they take the Disadvantage Normal Characteristic Maxima. They must spend character points for any equipment they regularly use.
The Approved Ranges in the campaign infobox are guidelines, not absolutes. Characters may fall outside these ranges and still be approved by a panel of all the players.
Characters are required to take at least one Disadvantage worth at least 20 Points.
Optional Rules
The Hit Location and Knockback optional rules are in effect. This campaign does not use the optional Wounding, Bleeding, Impairing, Disabling or Knockdown rules. Pushing follows the usual rules for superheroic campaigns.
House Rules
Combat Luck, a Talent available in Hero System 5th Edition Revised, is allowed in this game.

Player Characters
Antron is Anthony Adam, son of world-famous geneticists who tinkered with him as an embryo to save him from deformities. They used ant DNA to make him hale, healthy, and whole. It also had the side-effect of giving him superpowers.
Nate Reynolds is a semi-retired, long-term government operative and expert tracker whose mature good looks belie his long life.
Nesto Alvarado is an illegal alien with the power to awaken machines and computers to animal-level intelligence. His pickup truck, now a living machine, is his most constant and loyal companion.
Non-player Characters
- See Non-player characters in TV Superheroes for a complete list of NPCs.
Mr. Rushmore is a mysterious figure dressed in a suit, trying to recruit Nesto to "save the world."
