Biography
Born under the name of Giorda Raldua, the man now known as Famine was the third child of a family of impoverished farmers who struggled to grow their crops on their small plot of land in the mountains of the Thanedoms. Giorda hated his situation, how he was expected to work day in, day out, from dawn until dusk, every day of his life, and how he was always hungry and never had any time to himself. He had to share a room with his older brothers, and hated it. His entire childhood became blurred in his memory as one big mess of hatred and rage.
Then one day, a group of bandits rode through their farm, and insisted that the small family give them supplies: horses, food, and the like. His family gave in, wanting to keep the lives of their family. However, as the bandits rode off, and their dust trail finally settled, the small family realized the bandits had taken one thing, whether they knew it or not.
Giorda, tired of life on the farm, had snuck off with the bandits, hiding in the back of a cart. When the bandit group stopped for the night, Giorda hopped off the back and approached the group brazenly, asking to be trained in combat. Though most of the group was murderous and insisted on killing the young man, the leader was amused by him, and took him under his wing.
Throughout his years with the bandit group, Giorda picked up three different weapons: the lance, the sword, and the axe. He used all these to the maximum of his abilities, and quickly rose through the ranks of the bandit group, much to the chagrin and dismay of the older members, who still harbored their murderous intents.
For years, the bandit group wandered the continent, until finally, they were assimilated into a larger, much more secretive group, known only as the Brotherhood. With his prowess in multiple weapons, and his battle skills, Giorda quickly gained renown among the group, until finally, he was noticed by the higher-ups, the elite Horsemen, who had recently lost the fourth member of their group. The leader, known only as "The Beast" promoted Giorda to the position of Famine.
