Upper School Constitution
From Stmargarets
In an effort to formalize the repression that ran rampant under the Balak administration, the Upper School Governenment (USG), under the direction of Balak himself, began to formalize a St. Margaret's "constitution". Following a year of work, they posted the finished product around the campus. Students were shocked, not only at the glut of typos, but also the lack of rights guaranteed for students in the document. In protest, a number of vigilantes, including Noah Burbank and Andrew Wood posted letters next to the constitution urging students to vote it down in the upcoming election. (Though the letters have been since lost, the courage of these young men's conviction resonates throughout history). The campaign against the constitution was extremely successful, as it managed to earn a mere eight votes in the election that spring. Not coincidentally, the USG had exactly eight members.
