Biography
Kim Cozean was the teacher of many math classes, including Advanced Math and AP Calculus AB. He was also the head of the computer science department and teacher of SMES' only computer science courses, which were Introduction to Java and AP Computer Science.
Cozean classes were characterized by lackluster power point presentations and students' complete and total lack of enthusiasm for subject matter. Occasionally a video would be watched in class, but alas, Cozean refused to show any films other than Sandra Bullock's The Net or Edward James Olmos's Stand and Deliver, which were both shown several, several times.
Despite Cozean's proficiency in mathematics and computer science, he was surprisingly incompetent in the field of physics. A member of one math class attempted to demonstrate a Newtonian principle by saying that when a baseball is thrown, it decelerates as soon as it leaves the hand, but the efforts were a waste.
In a complete surprise to the student body, Cozean redeemed himself in the 2003-2004 school year by replacing the sound of the bell tone with "Ding Dong! The Witch is Dead" on the day that Balak's departure from the school was known.
Political Initiative
Cozean is known to all that take his classes that he is a diehard democrat and hates everything that Bush does. He will occasionally bring up articles he read during classes about Bush, and sometimes encorporate math into how much money has been spent on Iraq
Cozean created a good deal of controversy following his publication to the SMES Press about what could have been spent with money on iraq. This prompted David Beschke to write his own rebuttal to the matter, as he is a diehard republican. The controversy has yet to been resolved
Advisory
Cozean led an advisory for the class of 2003. the advisory didnt really do anything.
