Stories
Culdee and Norman
Patrick arrives from a service to find new two diesels on the railway. One friendly one named Betty, and a rude one named Norman. Norman continues on about how superior he is, but is silenced when he volunteers to take a heavy train up the mountain, but fails and slips back. Culdee helps him and Norman promises not to be so uppity.
Calamity Catherine
Culdee is feeling ill, so a rested Alaric offers to take Catherine instead. When he does, Catherine hits a rock on the tracks- damaging her automatic brakes. She realises this when the wind blows her down the mountain during a rest, but Patrick is on hand to save the day.
Determined in the Drifts
It's a blizzardy winter on the Island, and the mountain engines are reluctant to go out in the cold snow. But there's an emergancy with a plane crash on the mountain, and Wilfred is called to do it. At first he refuses, but realises he did the right thing when he finds the crew and gets them to safety.
Henry, Ernest and the Avalanche
The Mountain Engines are annoyed when they hear Henry is thinking they aren't useful and their line is unimportant. Ernest and Culdee in particular are irritated, but Ernest helps Henry appreciate the railway- when an avalanche occurs and he helps prevent Henry from being covered with rocks and rubble.
