Plot Summary
Glassy Glosser, The Pinchers' guitarist dreads one day of the year - the anniversery of the day he and his one true love, Ruth, broke up. Although it has been more than 30 years, Glassy still can't seem to get over why she left him.
His bandmates, Glossy Glasser, Jackie Glasser, and Jaq Haro hear him and decide that they want to help him. After some research, they discover where Ruth, Glassy ex-lover, is currently living - Miami, Florida. It is decided that the three will go there to see about Ruth.
When they arrive in Miami, Jackie gets info on where Ruth is living and the three travel to her house. They disguise themselves as 'The Society of Surprises', and tell her that she has won a free trip to Brosburg, which is really a plan to get her and Glassy together. After some debating, Ruth says yes to the trip, not knowing what is in store for her.
Whenever Glossy, Jackie and Jaq return home, they find Glassy worse than he was before - confused, and nervous about where the others have been. The trio lies and says that they were in Miami for other reasons.
The next day is the day that Ruth arrives at the Pinch Mansion. Neither she, or Glassy, knows what is going on. Glassy and Ruth see eachother for the first time in 30 years, both shocked at seeing the other. They speak for a while, and decide that, since Ruth is in the area, they could go out, for old times sake.
Glassy finds that he is so nervous he can't even eat, and runs out of the restaurant, in front of Ruth. Ruth tells Glassy that his nervousness can't get the best of him, and that he shouldn't be afraid. The two soon leave the restaurant and get burgers at McDonalds, and watch the cars on the highway. While watching the cars, Ruth declares that..."I'm still crazy over you...", before planting a kiss on Glassy. It is then official - Glassy and Ruth are together again.
Glassy takes Ruth to a spa the next day, and Ruth ends up kissing Glassy again, shocking him even more. That evening, Glassy goes to Ruth's hotel room, sees her on the balcony, and plays her a song on his guitar, with Glossy, Jaq, Sean and Patchmo singing with him. The two go up to Lake Starlight and watch the sun set. Ruth declares that she has fallen in love with Glassy all over again. However, their hapiness is short-lived, as Ruth is to return to Florida the next day. Glassy bids her farewell at the airport, but Ruth vows that she will be back.
A few weeks later, Glassy is driving along the Brosburg roads, when he sees that someone has bought a house downtown. Glassy is instantly curious and decides to investigate. He almost wrecks his car when he discovers that Ruth has bought the house. Ruth tells Glassy that she moved in so that she can be with him. Glassy then asks Ruth to a dance that Friday, and Ruth can't say no.
Friday comes and the two, along with the rest of The Pinchers, go to the dance. Glassy has made an arangement with a friend of his so that a piano will be avaliable. In the middle of the dance, at the right moment, Glassy plays Ruth a love song on the piano. Ruth tells him that that was the most beautiful thing she has ever heard, and it is suggested by Glossy that, if he is going to propose to her, now is the best time.
Glassy Glosser gets on his knees, and asks Ruth if she will marry him. Ruth declares that she will marry him. Everyone at the dance cheers for Glassy, and Glassy is the happiest of all. The dance ends, and everyone goes home, including Glassy, who believes that that night was the best of his life.
It isn't long before Ruth and Glassy are planning their wedding. They decide to get married on June 21, the first day of summer. Since it is May 19, the couple has a little over a month to prepare.
More than a month goes by and Glassy is still preparing for the wedding. However, as the big day grows closer, Glassy is growing more nervous. Ruth is called over, and she helps calm Glassy down, telling him not to get to him. Glassy listens to her advice, and decides that it won't get to him.
A few days later, the guests for the wedding arive, including Patchmo's brother Pete, and sister Patty, and Glassy's parents. Glassy also begins to re-arrange his bedroom, since Ruth will be moving in, he has added some of her items, including a heart shaped hot tub, and a grand piano.
The wedding is almost a week away, and most of the band agrees that it will go good, unless Glassy gets nervous. Sean and Jackie discuss the matter, and Jackie declares that, "It'll go good if Glassy doesn't have a break-down on the night before."
Things, however, don't seem to be going good. The bands that have been scheduled, seem to have cancelled. Glassy realizes just how hard things are going to get, and decides that Glossy's solo band should play. Things get worse for Glassy when he is discovered by Jackie and Glossy, pacing around out in front of a restaurant. He is invited in, and Jackie and Glossy, again tell him to not be so nervous, but Glassy just can't seem to stop his nervousness. Glossy tells him that Ruth will love him no matter what, thus cheering up Glassy.
A wedding preacher is hired, and the honeymoon location is decided - Las Vegas. More plans are made, and more guests arrive, and before anyone knows it, the wedding is two days away. Glassy has bought the rings, and the tuxedo's have arrived. He realizes now that he is not nervous any more, and ready to be married.
Only one day remains until the wedding. The wedding party has their rehearsal, and the bachelor and bachelorette parties are held. The party helps calm the nerves of Glassy, and he is then ready for the following day...
Only minutes remain before the wedding. Just as Patchmo brings in drinks, "for the good times," it is time - Glassy must get married. Everyone walks down the aisle. Glassy is last, and he looks up to see Ruth coming at him. He smiles at her, now that his nervousness is gone. The reverand gives the wedding speach and hands the rings to Glassy and Ruth. He declares them husband and wife, and Glassy kisses the bride - Ruth.
Glassy Glosser is now married.
The wedding reception goes well, with Glossy's band playing a great set, and the food impressing all. Glassy thanks the band for supporting him, and also thanks Jackie, Glossy and Jaq - 'The Society of Surprises.' Finally, Glassy and Ruth dance together as their wedding song is played - 'Bless the Broken Road' by Rascal Flatts.
After dancing, Glassy, Glossy, Sean, Jaq and Patchmo head outside and laugh about the experiences of the past few months. They are all looking forward to their honeymoon, and Glassy is glad that he is now married. Patchmo declares that this certainly was a very pinchy wedding and everytone agrees that it was, indeed, A Very Pinchy Wedding.
