Motors are small, usually simple, models that create a regular motion. This motion is usually linear and very powerful. This makes them quite useful in creating neat, orderly models.

Linear motors are generally regular polygons with certain chords attached. The muscle placement on them makes them into a line, and all motion is along that line. The definition of a motor is, a self contained unit powerful enough to move an entire model.
