Background Story
Rose Hancock is the daughter of William "Bill" Hancock, an executive for SkyTek in Great Britian. Though by no means the sort of overindulged, pampered airhead typified by Paris Hilton, Rose was nonetheless a child of privilege. She's never had to work at a regular job, though she was expected to study and do well in school. And so she did. But that left plenty of time to live well, hang out with her friends and to immerse herself in the popular culture of the 21st century.
Things went swimmingly until the most recent Christmas, when she was struck by a speeding vehicle while crossing the street. Her friends were horrified. Then relieved when she climbed to her feet, still alive. Then horrified again when it was clear that she was completely unhurt. Rose went home to her family. Not long afterward, several gentlemen arrived at the family residence to question her and to take her into custody. Rose was alarmed, but her father assured her it would be alright.
Rose went along with it until they reached the street and she discovered that she was about to be arrested and placed in the back of a paddy wagon. Embarrassed to be treated like a criminal, she balked. The gentlemen insisted. Rose discovered that she was stronger than any of them, then that she was stronger than all of them. She was even bulletproof. Rose fled. They pursued her, and their vehicle was much faster than Rose was on foot. When she realized this, Rose remembered how this whole fiasco had started--and ran out in front of the vehicle. It crashed into her, wrecking the vehicle. Rose was unhurt and ran off while the shaken cops climbed out of the ruined paddy wagon.
Over the next couple of days, Rose played a game of cat and mouse with increasing numbers of government agents trying to run her to ground and capture her. She became notorious, the subject of numerous media reports. Her family appealed to her to do the right thing and turn herself in, but the increasingly violent attempts to capture or killer her convinced Rose that doing so would be a very bad idea. She remained on the run. On the third day, her father publicly disowned her until and unless she surrendered to the government immediately. She didn't.
Rose found all her credit cards canceled and all her bank accounts frozen. It was a shocking and frightening situation. She'd never been without vast financial resources before. The government was closing in, too. She had only one card left--Rose had discovered that she could fly, but she'd kept that ability hidden from everyone. Now she used it to leave the country. She found her way to Heathrow Airport, evaded security and found a flight heading for the United States. She couldn't board it--she had no money, no passport and she was a wanted fugitive.
But she could fly--and fast enough to follow the airliner to New York City. It was a long, cold and scary flight. It took almost eight hours, yet in the end Rose found herself approaching the city. She let the airliner continue on its way to JFK while she flew down into Manhattan. Surely she would be safe here. Nobody knew she was here, nobody would recognize her or know she was a mutant.
Rose robbed an ATM machine (being careful not to let herself be photographed). She used the cash to buy food, pay for having her hair cut and colored, to buy some new clothes. She intended to get a hotel room but without an ID she couldn't--not in the sorts of hotels she was used to, anyhow. So she remains homeless for the moment. She's not sure what to do next.
Personality
Rose is naively overconfident. She has almost no experience of life outside of the cocoon of daddy's money. She's convinced that she's savvy enough to manage it, however, and is in for a rude awakening. Her physical toughness is such that her self-confidence probably isn't misplaced when it comes to threats of violence. But she's easy pickings for confidence games and treachery. She's never experienced--nor engaged in--serious violence in her entire life. Even her battles with the government recently have consisted of throwing off attempts to capture her; she would be appalled at the possibility of seriously injuring or killing someone else.
Appearance
Rose has blonde hair but her brown eyes and dark brows are evidence that her blond coloring comes out of a bottle. She is currently wearing jeans, a denim jacket and a t-shirt emblazoned with the Union Jack. That t-shirt is as much of a costume as she's likely to adopt.
Powers
Rose's powers all stem from a common source--an unconscious telekinetic ability limited by her ability to touch things. She maintains a nearly impenetrable force field which protects her from most injuries as well as from extreme pressure or vacuum, as well as extremes of temperature. She is able to fly using her telekinetic powers. She is also superhumanly strong, able to exert her telekinetic powers on anything she touches--making it possible for her to lift, catch or throw massive items even when she shouldn't have the leverage to do so, or when the objects would realistically collapse from the forces being exerted on them.
Rose's tactics are fairly simple. She has no experience with brawling or more sophisticated forms of combat. She tends to throw herself at her opponents, hoping to distract them and keep them focused on her since she's unlikely to be injured. She also likes to seize her opponents and fly away with them, getting them away from bystanders (and potential hostages).
