Pre-Deluge history and biography

Marie Brown was born in California to parents who divorced less than a year after her birth. The daughter of a single mother, she relied upon her mother and her grandparents (who lived nearby) for emotional support. Marie grew up as a shy, quiet child who prefered her books to dealing with people. Post-Deluge events

When the Deluge hit, Marie was taking a bus. Fortunately, the bus was stopped; she dreaded what would have happened if it had been going full speed, as half the passengers disappeared , along with the bus driver. Marie made a quick decision to visit her mother (her grandparents being long dead), and found her to still be alive. When Fate's Handmaiden struck her mother, and with half of Blue Bay Harbor (including the office where she worked) underwater, she elected to go back home, taking her bicycle and bicycle trailer on one of the few Amtrak routes still operating.
