Notes when South is Dealer:
  1. P0, P1: 5-card suit, 15 HCP, 9 cards in two longest suits.
  2. P4, P1, P3: 5-card suit but only 6 HCP.
  3. P10: 3-card heart support and 8 HCP.
  4. P8, P11: With his 11 HCP and 4-3-3-3 shape, East wanted to bid 1NT, but North's bid has just taken this bid away from him. So he doubles.
  5. P12: North has made a limit raise and South has just the five hearts promised by his opening bid. Game is not on, so he passes.
