Counting

From Shtarmon

Unlike most other fundamentals of the Shtarmoni language, the counting system is one thing that has survived the language's rough road to standardization. The system used to count in Shtarmoni is very simple and will be outlined below.

number - word - pronounciation
1 - un - oon
2 - do - doh
3 - trie - TREE-eh
4 - ka - kah
5 - kin - keen
6 - es - ace
7 - ep - ayp
8 - oktis - OHK-tees
9 - none - NO-neh
10 - deke - DEH-keh
Counting higher than 10 is done essentially by saying 'ten and one' and so on.
11 - deke a un - DEH-keh ah oon
12 - deke a do - DEH-keh ah doh
13 - deke a trie - DEH-keh a TREE-eh
Counting by tens, done by adding the number of tens as a prefix to ten. e.g. dodeke = twenty; triedeke = thirty and so on
20 - dodeke - doh-DEH-keh
21 - dodeke a un - doh-DEH-hek ah oon
30 - triedeke - tree-EH-deh-keh
40 - kadeke - KAH-deh-keh
50 - kindeke - KEEN-deh-keh
60 - esdeke - ACE-deh-keh
70 - epdeke - AYP-deh-keh
80 - oktisdeke - ohk-TEES-deh-keh
90 - nonedeke - no-NEH-deh-keh

100 - sen - sehn
