Masumi is a deceased male user who joined RINGS Communities on October 13, 2007. He was a 20-year-old university student who often gave Largo a place to stay on his trips to Tokyo. He had nigh-encyclopedic knowledge of the wraiths and curses.

Before RINGS
Masumi Kandou was your run-of-the-mill kid in college. A bit brighter than average, but still. His family had ties to the Yamamuras as well. As stated above, he was often Largo's host. He agreed to be Largo's tail after he was cursed.
RINGS
He had passed on the tape by the time he joined. However...the strain evolved. Masumi was killed by the Towel-Headed Man the day after he joined. The inescapable aspect of the strain soon spread to all copies of Sadako's tape made after that day.
Death and Events after
After he was killed, he was brought into the well and made into a Towel-Headed Man, effectively Sadako's servant for all eternity.
As a Towel-Headed Man
Masumi is perhaps best described as put in two posts, by Largo and Kasimir respectively.
"Masumi was...the chances of what happened to him were quite literally one-in-a-million. He's an anomaly. Unstable, and unpredictable. No one really knows what he's capable of, nor do they wish to." - Largo on the subject of Masumi.
"You're walking into your demise, Ian. Kandou isn't one to screw around with. I hope you don't have to find out first hand, McKinley." - Kasimir, speaking to i_equinox on the subject of Masumi.
i_equinox is the first member to have encountered Masumi in his fully-transformed state. He had appeared to member Largo the day after his death, but he was still non-hostile. Within the week, Masumi had become dangerous, insane, and his powers as a Towel-Headed Man are unknown thus far. According to Largo and Kasimir, as stated above, there is a great deal of uneasiness and worry surrounding what he can do. Evidence has sprung up to say he's more dangerous than Hiroshi Toyama or Ryuji Takayama, the other known Towel-Headed Men, but no definite proof has made itself known. Recently, he was granted the ability to communicate on the forums by Sadako, mainly to keep her followers in line.
