A tail is a term used to describe a person to which a cursed tape is passed to save someone else and can be anyone from a family member to a complete stranger. Many people foolishly wait too long to look for a tail and end up leaving their tape at a random person's door with a note telling them to watch it. People who plan ahead usually have back up tails if their primary ones back out.
