Shabbat memories

From Shabbat

[edit] What are some of your favorite Shabbat memories?

  • Spending time with the people I love the most! On some Friday nights me, my brother and our parents would go to our friends' house and spend with them the evening. This family was helping us 18 years ago, when we made an Aliya, and they are the most meaningful people to me back in Israel. For me, Shabbat was made for getting love and sharing from what you have to give, while letting G-d know that we appreciate him for giving us the chance to enjoy wonderful nights like this.

  • Fresh Flowers: that's my best memory from Shabbat in Israel

  • When I was younger, me and my sister would get in knock-down-drag out fights over the culinary merits of dipping Challah into Kiddush Juice. Eventually the fights would get so intense that one or both of us would be asked to excuse ourselves from the table. Actually, that's not a "favorite" shabbat memory, as much as an "embarrassing" shabbat memory. Oh well.

  • The light switch for my bathroom is next to the door outside of the bathroom and guest #1 commented

on this as he entered the bathroom. Guest #2 was not paying attention when this comment was made. Guest #3 then turned off the bathroom lights while guest #1 was in there. Guest #1 came out and yelled at guest #2 for having turned off the lights. A couple of minutes later, guest #3 said to guest #2 "it would be really funny if you turned off the bathroom lights while guest #1 is in there, since he has already gotten mad at you for it". Guest #2, not knowing where the switch was basically walked in on guest #1 in an attempt to turn off the lights and stood there confused.... really funny!

The shabbat at AEpi was amazing! We had 3 different types of lasagna, challah, and it was great to meet everyone!

My favorite memory was blessing my little (fraternity) brothers as if they were my children.
