Wikishabbat
Welcome to Hillel's prototype "Wikishabbat" page!
While this would be an informative website, consisting of general information about Shabbat practice and observance, it would be used (ideally) as a compendium of individual narratives and experiences. Each contributer would be encouraged to add personal anecdotes and memories, rather than simply list facts. The goal is not to simply create a Shabbat database, but rather, a Shabbat "community", consisting of stories, memories, and personalities.
In this site you will find:
-A definition of Shabbat
-Tips and Techniques for hosting a Shabbat dinner
-Definitions of some Shabbat terms
And Much Much More
Why A Wiki?
A "Wiki" is a website consisting of articles that are written, edited, and submitted by anyone! What this means is that any and everyone can give their input on any and every aspect of Shabbat they want! Wiki-articles are always changing, and growing, letting the user add their own stories and experience to existing articles, or create entirely new articles on their own- it's the ultimate interactive database for all your shabbat needs!
