SCALE Presentations
Here are some topics I found of interest at the 2009 SCALE. They are skewed towards the beginning track since I'd like to see what other speakers in that track are doing. I don't expect to be able to attend them all but maybe those of us planning to attend can work out a schedule to allow us to cover the booth but still have time to attend the presentations.
Topic: "Now What?" for the Open Source Noob http://scale7x.socallinuxexpo.org/conference-info/speakers/dru-lavigne-wios
Topic: Building the best open source media center http://scale7x.socallinuxexpo.org/conference-info/speakers/avner-ronen
Topic: Companies & Communities, partners in open source? http://scale7x.socallinuxexpo.org/conference-info/speakers/stormy-peters
Topic: Getting Started in Open Source: An Overview for Newbies http://scale7x.socallinuxexpo.org/conference-info/speakers/leslie-hawthorn-and-cat-allman
Topic: FOSS Games - FREE FUN - A quick overview of some great FOSS games! http://scale7x.socallinuxexpo.org/conference-info/speakers/joseph-guarino
Topic: Open Source Business for Hackers http://scale7x.socallinuxexpo.org/conference-info/speakers/ross-turk
Topic: BUG Update: Building open source gadgets with Linux, OSGi, and Web Services http://scale7x.socallinuxexpo.org/conference-info/speakers/ken-gilmer
^^^^ schedule conflict vvvv
Topic: Open Source in an Economic Downturn http://scale7x.socallinuxexpo.org/conference-info/speakers/john-todd
Topic: "Scripting" with Python: Maintainable, Testable, & Distributable http://scale7x.socallinuxexpo.org/conference-info/speakers/matt-harrison
Topic: Low power Linux http://scale7x.socallinuxexpo.org/conference-info/speakers/hunyue-yau
We may also think about having some of us attend a variety of topics rather than all go to the same event. It might also be good to take notes and make presentations (reports) at a SFVLUG meeting based on our experiences at the show to share with those who were not able to attend.
