Finding the Pictures
From Rom Com
This takes place in Kati's house/apartment/dwelling. Just after having been seduced by Kati, Dylan stumbles across a record of the cell phone pictures taken by both Alex and Kati. As melancholy music plays (can melancholy music play? Please?), it becomes obvious to him that he was duped. He leaves.
INT. Bedroom. Night.
Establishing shot. The bedroom has an adjoining bathroom. The door is open, and KATI stands before the sink, brushing her teeth. Light spills out.
Medium shot. DYLAN is lying on the bed. Perhaps a close-up on him. The sheets are disheveled. He looks slightly disoriented.
Far shot. KATI shuts the door. She wants privacy. Sudden darkness as the light from inside the bathroom is blotted out.
Medium shot. Dylan turns on a bedside lamp, sits up and yawns.
Close up. He takes off his glasses, cleans them, and puts them back on.
Far shot. He gets up and paces around the room, stretching. He sits down at the desk (there's a desk). We see only his back. He stretches in the chair.
Close up on Dylan opening the drawers of the desk. He flips through several personal things (Bills? Clothing?), then shuts the drawer.
Close up on the desk top. There is a large scrapbook type book on it, next to a cup filled with pens. He tentatively opens the book. He flips through. There are photos glued to every page of people who have been seduced. He comes to a page that has several pictures of people on it, then a blank space with 'Dylan' written beneath it. (Or something. Whatever.)
Far shot. The bathroom door. From behind the door, the noise of a shower starting up.
Close up on Dylan, flipping quickly through the book now. He reaches a section in the back labeled "ALEX'S CONQUESTS" or something equally obvious. There is an extremely pathetic photograph of a young, pretty girl beneath this caption. He slowly turns the pages until he reaches a photograph of Alex making out with some girl. There's another one of Alex winking and making a thumbs up as he does something blatantly terrible to some other girl. Melancholy music swells.
Medium shot. Dylan's profile. He puts one hand to his forehead.
Medium shot of Kati, wrapped in a towel (preferably sea-foam colored; that's the color it is in my head), stepping out of the shower. The camera follows her out of the bathroom door and stops at the empty bedroom.
Close up of Kati peering out the door. She is confused, perhaps questioning. Not upset or visibly emotional.
Far shot of the room. Kati stands there, still confused. The door stands open. The pages of the book flutter slightly. DYLAN has obviously left.
CUT TO:
INT. Hallway. Night.
Dylan having obviously just left Kati's apartment, knocks on Aimee's door. No answer. He tries again, and again, nothing. He leaves.
