Dante1

From Reydala

Standing with his arms crossed, Dante felt Dagnir walk off, then disappear. As he became unaware of the other man's presence, he walked to Ichi'Ban's corpse, and stood there, studying it. It was obvious that he had missed a horrific battle; the claw and tooth marks on the clump of feathers and ruined meat attested to that.

I didn't ask for anyone to follow me, the one-eyed man thought to himself as he mentally reconstructed the fight from the evidence. Dagnir had tried casting Entanglement, for all the good it did to the airborn demon. I don't need anyone else's help. This was supposed to be MY fight. Once again, I've lost my shot at adulthood.

There was an uncomfortable pressure as the Tengu's sword pressed into the small of his back, hidden as it was underneath his cloak. As to whether the placement was genuinely uncomfortable, or the weight was an unpleasant reminder that Dagnir had done what he was supposed to do, Dante couldn't tell. And as for the Druid...

Dante grimaced and shifted his weight, glad his back was to the rest of the party. To think that Dagnir would just so casually hand over the Tengu's sword, and expect him to just accept it and try to make as if he'd earned it. As he replayed the vision of Dagnir holding it out to him again and again, he felt his skin grow hotter.

"This was such a waste of TIME!"

Fine. He'd keep the demon's katana. He'd even use it. But he wouldn't pretend that he earned it. If that meant staying a child forever, then so be it.

"God DAMN IT!"
