Basic Character Information

Entry Point

Around a week after Terminus, Nyssa found the 12-7 while she was working on a radiation refiner. While talking to the Mara in the guise of the Fifth Doctor she perfected it. He landed and took her in the TARDIS back to adventure.

Physical Description

Slightly shorter than Tegan, with brown curly hair that was worn in tight ringlets when she was younger but now in relaxed curls and waves. She has bluish-grey eyes and a light dusting of freckles across her face.

Personality

Calm, incredibly intelligent, intuitive and collected, Nyssa has a very peaceful nature. However, she is not weak or a push-over, she has strong morals and does not stand for evil or injustice, even if it is under the guise of universal peace. She was the quietest of her TARDIS crew and was a bit of a fly on the wall. She has matured a LOT since Keeper of Traken

History

Nyssa is the Daughter of Tremas, a consul of Traken and the step daughter of Kassia, another consul, and for a short time, Keeper of Traken. Her fathers body was taken over by the Master and shortly after the events of 'Keeper of Traken' was taken by the mysterious Watcher to Logopolis. There she, again met with the Doctor and Adric, and a new friend, Tegan. The Master destroyed Traken with a wave of entropy, and Nyssa, already an orphan, was left homeless. The Doctor took her under his wing after he regenerated and whisked his 3 new friends on adventures across Time and Space. When Adric died Nyssa was very shook up, he had been one of her best friends, and the last person alive to have known Traken, the Doctor having regenerated. Shortly after Tegan was left behind at Heathrow. She went on several adventures on her own with the Doctor before finding herself on Gallifrey with him and then Amsterdam where they found Tegan again. A year or so afterwards they met the mysterious and enigmatic school-boy Turlough. Nyssa trusted him, he seemed kind enough even though Tegan, most definitely did not. Only a few days after she had met Turlough the TARDIS traveled to Terminus. A space station, colony or quarantine ship, (depending on who you were) for people infected with the incredibly contagious Lazars disease. It was terrible, the treatment was a random dose of radiation and the people had no idea what was happening to them, the slaves, the Vanir, who worked in the place wore gruesome masks and did most definitely not want to work there. The company, Terminus Inc. kept taking away their immunization and making it in smaller doses until they were only given coloured water. The Garm, who administered the radiation was a fearsome beast and very strong. Nyssa was infected, but managed to survive it, for her the radiation worked. She decided to stay and synthesize the hydromel that helped the vanir live, freeing them. As well as work with the Garm to refine the radiation and make Terminus a hospital. Before the 12-7 arrived and she left it was lovely, the fearsome skulls painted on the walls were all covered in a sterile white, there were flowers and music and rooms for patients. They had managed quite a bit of money to renovate the place and turn it into a hospital because several of the people who had been infected with Lazars disease had been very wealthy and donated a fair bit of money to help fund a cure and make the hospital more liveable. When they arrived there first there was a young man, Olvir, his sister had contracted Lazars and been sent there and when he heard what Nyssa planned to do he stayed with her and helped her understand quite a lot about the symptoms and the stigma surrounding Lazars. As previously mentioned, when she found the 12-7 she was working on a radiation refining device. Before Nyssa was whisked off in the TARDIS with the Mara she left Olvir and the Vanir a note to tell them I'd done it. Finished the device. Found a cure.

Now she has helped to defeat the Mara, find a piece of the Key to Time on the Eye of Orion and convert it and meet her alternate universe self. A self who has never left Traken untill now.
