Walk upstream in hopes of finding a town?

You follow the path that leads upstream. You walk along it, enjoying the scenery, which is mostly scrubland and small hills. A few wildflowers grow next to the path, and you gather some in a bouquet. The day is beautiful, and you enjoy the warm sunshine. As you continue along, the path widens. It seems like more people come here. As the day wears on, you start to get hungry. You start looking around for anything to eat. Up ahead, you see a small path branching from the larger one. It leads to a small cottage next to what looks like an apple orchard.
What do you do?
Head straight for the orchard and start picking apples
