Track the beast

Arming yourself with a sharp piece of driftwood you find lying in a patch of grass, you begin following the tracks southwards down the length of the beach. You know that the driftwood probably won't offer you much protection if you find yourself in confrontation, but you can at least enjoy the false sense of security it provides. After a few hundred yards, the tracks seem to scuffle in place, implying that the creature stopped here for a while. You notice that there appears to be four separate pairs of tracks. The tracks leading away seem to be much fresher than what you had been following, and they are much more spread apart, implying that the creature/s began running. You hear a deafening roar and a girl screaming on the other side of the sand dune.
