Mick St. John is a Private Investigator currently living in Los Angeles California. His close friend Josef Konstantin has known him the longest and the two of them get along as well as could be expected considering their have different views on certain key topics of discussion between them. He has recently been helping in a few investigations that have garnered the attention of the local news, but prefers to work on the lesser exposed cases.

The Private Investigator

Mick St. John runs a Private Investigation operation based out of Los Angeles. He has been known to go to extreme lengths to help out those that hire him for his services. Among his previous clients he also takes on more personal cases that gain the attention of local news stations and internet news feeds such as Buzzwire.com and one of their leading reporters Beth Turner. Despite being an licensed investigator he still does not have many internal contacts with the LAPD or any other government agencies, preferring to rely on his own instincts and experience.

The Vampire

The Beginning

When Mick was thirty years old he was deeply in love with a woman by the name of Coraline. The two were to be married and Mick at the time was unaware of his future Bride's true nature as a Vampire. In the heat of a moment on their wedding night Mick promised to love Coraline forever, and she took this quite literally and sired him. When he awoke confused and now a Vampire he was enraged that he had been turned into such a monster. Struggling with his new lifestyle that had been forced upon him Mick tried to keep as much of his humanity as he could close to the surface.

He left Coraline and was on his own for thirty years. Then a desperate mother came to him for help in finding her child. She had been missing and the mother was extremely worried and had heard that Mick would do whatever it would take to save her. Mick followed all of the leads he could which led him to the girl who had been kidnapped by his ex-wife and sire Coraline. Coraline had been driven near mad and was attempting to encourage Mick to join her once more, that they could make their marriage work if he would just give it a try. Mick refused and Coraline took hold of the girl, implying that they could create a new family with the girl by siring her as well.

Outraged Mick attacked his ex-wife and the two fought. In the midst of the fight a fire broke out and Coraline was knocked out. Mick gathered the girl up in his arms and he told her she was safe once more. Mick and the child left the building engulfed in flames and Mick assumed that Coraline died within the fires.

This single act of kindness and being able to save a young girl from the woman that created him opened Mick's eyes to what type of person he could become, and from that moment onward dedicated his existence to changing the monster that he sired as into someone that could help others.

The Sin-Filled Past

As Mick grew more accustomed to his Vampire Lifestyle he was often seen in the company of Josef Konstantin in dimly lit nightclubs and private events. The nights were often filled with drinking, feeding, and other varied sinful events. Mick St. John was at such an evening when he received a phone call from a local police detective that was working with him on a domestic abuse case informing him that the woman who had been beaten previously had been shot to death in her car.

It is unknown at this time when the debauchery started in Mick St. John's social life, nor how he and Josef initially met.

The Current Love Affair

Thirty years after rescuing the young girl from the fires and Coraline Mick St. John has kept an eye on her as she grew up. She is now Beth Turner a media reporter for BuzzWire.com and has as of late become something of a steady fixture in his life, despite the protests of others and to an extent Mick himself.

They were first reunited during an investigation of a local murdering spree of young co-ed girls that seemed to be victims of Vampire attacks. Since the existence of Vampires is not something that most want to be public knowledge Mick investigated the murders and as a result was reunited with Beth Turner. Other crimes relating to Vampire activity or his own past continued to create opportunities for their paths to cross and Beth soon discovered the truth of just who Mick was to her as well as what he was. This very fact came in handy when he was trapped in the desert on a case and near death. Beth offered up her own blood to sustain him and after much reluctance Mick had to admit to her that the event did bond them together in a way he was not expecting to experience.

As of late Mick has been trying to maintain the steady thought in his mind that Beth is currently dating a District Attorney and that a relationship between a human and a Vampire always ends badly. Beth's recent actions however have been making it extremely difficult for him to not give into the temptation that she presents.
