Reach Rubber

From Reach

A flexible, waterproof, chemically resistant substance made from the refined sap of a Canopy Tree. Reach rubber is inferior to Earth Tech rubber in most respects, but does have the one key advantage of resistance to Reach's chemical precipitation.

Despite the fact that Reach Rubber and Earth Tech rubber are virtually interchangable, there are arguments to use both. Earth tech rubber is more durable than Reach rubber, as Reach rubber tends to flake after extended usage. In addition, the chemical resistivity of Reach rubber is countered by its noxious smell: Refineries have still not been able to eliminate the disgusting odor that the result of the manufacturing process. However, many consider the terrible odor a minor price to pay when they are stuck in a 13.2 pH rain.
