About Essay Real
Understanding his image as a rapper ever since the age of 7, JaeSwift (now known as Essay Real) has been on his way to new heights ever since his younger days. Justin Blackwell aka JaeSwift is one of North Carolina's rare talent that comes around ever blue moon. The 19 year old, musical minded stand off has been featured on many North Carolina based mixtapes that have surfaced the area. The time came for JaeSwift to start his own pathway of music he could call his own and feed from the people he grew around. In 2004, JaeSwift begin working on his debut mixtape that sold over a gross of 2000+ copies, "Enemy Hated". From there making music people would love and listen to was put in the easy bracket. From working of this project he received many offers from independent labels such as Fatal Artz Records, Top House Music Group and Drama Tyme Entertainment just to name a few. To him he didn't feel he was ready to start climbing from indy to major right now and continued to produce the music that people fell in love with. Early-January 2005, Jae released his sophomore mixtape "Back Onda Grind" which was not as big as his first big hit mixtape. Even tho it wasnt as big as the first one, it still caught eyes of some people to let them know he was here for it all and was serious about every second of it.
At this point making mixtapes was a hurddle that JaeSwift well got over and starting Mid-2005 recording his debut album "The First Poem". This was the ground breaker for JaeSwift as he touched ears of out of state A&R's and producers lining up to work with him on side projects. Finally one of the producers JaeSwift met up with in 2004 Brian "Da Beatzsmith" Nazzaro decided to take on as JaeSwift's official producer. From there on Jae switched his management and is now managed by the well known Texas native Mike Chehade whos managed artists such as Chamillionaire, Slim Thug and ties with the Houston "Swisha House Records". Jae didn't waste anytime as he started working right alongside Da Beatzsmith working on his sophomore album "Underxtamadeit".
January 2006, JaeSwift happily released his most accomplished project, Underxtamadeit LP. The second album went for a slashing 800+ sold in just two days. The overall succes of the new album is now in the holdings as the new album is something well different than his previous work. Now, signed to the florida based label, After The Smoke Entertainment, with other artists such as Whuzi, singer Carmen, and producer Stigma just to name a few, JaeSwift looks to do damage with a crazy enotourage. With a raspy voice, and slick and strong lyricall tounge, You can beleive that at age 19, Justin Blackwell or as we know him as JaeSwift is ready to leave his teenage years with enough under his belt. From being criticized, crucified and crafted, the time is now where things will get a very interesting for the man himself, JaeSwift.
