Inferior Parietal Lobe:

Position in Brain

The inferior Parietal Lobe resides beneath the horizontal space of the intraparietal sulcus. This area is at the posterior of the parietal lobe. Within the inferior parietal lobe are the angular and supramarginal gyri.

Uses

Helps with the multiple aspects of sensory processing and sensorimotor integration One of the main uses of the inferior parietal lobe is signaling the spatial location of objects. It also helps with the position of the viewers head and eyes when focusing on an object.

Associated Syndromes

Damage or lesion to the parietal lobe area can result in syndromes such as Balint's Syndrome, Gerstmann's Syndrome, and hemineglect.
