Southern Alps Ski Membership

In the winter period of 1935 an enthusiastic and intrepid gang of skiers staying at the Hotel Kosciusko decided it would be a great time to begin a snowboarding club.

The Southern Alps Ski Club had been formed to promote the enjoyment sport of snowboarding and to create a foundation in Sydney for social events in the past year to continue the relationships formed whilst on holiday seasons in the snow.

Underneath the guidance of President Rex Dunbar the first members proved helpful towards improving the standard of the sport.
