[edit] Geography and Wildlife
Northern Ro'Akaan is a vast mountainous land; the mountains are either covered by ice or thick forests. The Southern half of Ro'Akaan, including the Southern Peninsula, is a long fertile plain. The Ro'Akaan Mountains have are naturally quite cavernous, a feature which the dwarves have only expanded on.
The Wildlife of Ro'Akaan is similar to that of Northern North America; rabbit, squirrel, deer, bears, water foul, various birds, and occasionally a few predatory cats like a puma or a lynx.
As far as monsters, Ro'Akaan is generally a very safe continent save for one creature; Dire Bears. These beasts are unfortunately common in the northern reaches. Griffins are also common, though they tend to avoid humans unless neccesary. Other large birds, such as giant owls and giant eagles, are also native to this region; Rocs are even said to live here, though they are not very common anymore. Vampire communities are also said to inhabit the forests..
[edit] Cultures
[edit] Dwarves
The Northern half of Ro'Akaan, the Mountainous region, is ruled by the Dwarves. Dwarves have no truly organized society; more like various mines which interact autonomously yet peacefully with each other. Dwarves are greedy by nature, but hard-working and down to earth; subtlety is lost on them. They're rarely more than average fighters; they hone their martial skills only as needed to slay the underground menaces they encounter as they dig.
Arinth Dwarves maintain regular Dwarf Traits.
[edit] Humans
The humans that live on Southern Ro'Akaan live in what is simply known as The Southern Kingdom. While they do have a King, he is largely ceremonial; the real power lies with the assembly made up by the merchant guilds. The Southern Kingdom is currently the most populated of the human kingdoms, and the most influential in the financial world.
They get along well with their neighbors from Chrade, and with just about anyone that has something valuable to trade; indeed, the Southern Kingdom could be said to be a kingdom of merchants.
The Culture here is relatively open, and most things are permissible - especially if it can generate money.
